Trappeze Pub

We had to run to Athens last week, so Larry could pick up his saw and pressure washer, the better to do home improvement projects with. I was happy to make the trip because I had read about Farm 255, a restaurant supplied by the owners farm. I had looked up their menu a few weeks back and I couldn't wait to try it.

Well, wah! We arrived for late lunch only to find that the restaurant did not open until 5:30 PM. Okay, not that late a lunch.

Here we were on an Athens street corner, not dressed up and no place to go.

Except for Trappeze, just down the street. It was a beautiful day for outdoor dining and we were familiar with the Trappeze vegetarian Reuben, a scrumptious creation that substitutes fresh avocado slices for the more traditional corned beef for this sandwich.
After lunch, we asked our server what green practices the restaurant uses and she told us they recycled their bottles. Thank goodness, because Trappeze serves up an impressive number of beers.

Trappeze is also proud to offer its patrons 1000 Faces Coffee, a sustainably grown local choice well-known for their decisions to participate in green practices. And they welcome anyone to come to their establishment and see what they are doing. What a nice change from the hemming and hawing we've become accustomed to as we ask business owners about their green practices. These folks apparently have nothing to hide. We'll let you know more after we see them in person, but for now, 1000 Faces sounds like a good cuppa Joe.
