Pizza Fusion
;According to the article, this Florida-based chain prioritizes environmental issues. Its delivery vehicles are tiny hybrids, its building is eco-friendly, its power usage is low, and its food is mostly organic with lots of vegetarian and vegan choices.
;
;Townsend quoted the restaurant's owner, franchisee Jeff Melnick as saying that he intends to expand his Atlanta area operations in the future "wherever there's a Whole Foods, Trader Joe's or Fresh Market," in other words, wherever cultural creatives gather to shop and snack.
Well, guess where we ate that weekend?
Townsend's article noted that some of the servers, though enthusiastic, were "a little hazy on menu details." That was not the case with Ricki, who waited on us. She was a pro in helping us to navigate the menu and was able to recommend a brand of vegan cheese that was more meltable (melty?) than what we'd been buying.
Our pizza was tasty and we felt good about eating it. Ditto the flatbread appetizer. We topped those items off with organic beer and our meal was complete (and healthy).
A few days after our visit, I noticed that Pizza Fusion was again in the news, this time for earning four out of four possible leaves on the Greenopia green leaf rating scale. They were awarded the four leaves for the reasons cited above - they're careful about their energy use in every way imaginable and their yummy food is good for you and the environment.
Put Pizza Fusion on your short list and look for us when you dine there (we'll be the ones with the big smiles).
